Experimental Facilities - Custom built optical fiber draw tower

Five-meter optical fiber draw tower, completed with a Heathway frame, laminar air flow system and HEPA filters. In-situ monitoring equipment includes two dual-axis Beta laser micrometers as well as a concentricity monitor. The tower is fully touch-screen controlled and utilizes a feedback loop so the fiber diameter can be controlled automatically. The tower has also has a polymer coating and UV-fusion curing system.
